Reviews of a car-mount unit and a multimedia station for Verizon Wireless' Motorola Droid.

Verizon Wireless' Motorola Droid is an impressive phone by itself, but when it is paired with its accessories, Droid owners can have an even better user experience.

The accessories like the Car Mount Phone Holder and Multimedia Station make this device easier and more convenient to use, adding extra features that aren't available otherwise. After testing these accessories, it is safe to say that these can definitely enhance anybody's experience with this phone.

Droid Car Mount Phone Holder

The Car Mount Phone Holder for Droid by Motorola is an extremely useful accessory for the Motorola Droid. Allowing users to mount their Droid devices on their windshields or dashboards, this accessory makes using the phone in a car not only easier, but also much, much safer.

Setting up the Droid Car Mount is a pretty straightforward task. If the user wants it mounted on the dashboard, he starts by simply attaching the plastic mounting disk to the dashboard with the disk's adhesive back. Then, depending on where the user wants the Phone Holder mounted, he uses the suction cup on the holder to attach the phone to either the dashboard or windshield.

After mounting the Droid Car Mount, use of the device in a car becomes much easier. Users can now have their Droid right in front of them when they are using it to look up traffic information or get directions via the phone's GPS feature. During the testing of this accessory, no major problems were found. The suction cup held very well, not falling like many other phone and GPS mounts might. Changing the position and angle of the phone was also very easy due to the swiveling joints on the mount. Overall, this very handy accessory is an excellent buy for any Motorola Droid owner.

Droid Multimedia Station

With the Droid Multimedia Station, Droid owners can enhance their device's ability to handle multimedia. When a Droid is plugged into the Multimedia Station, a set of magnets in the station sets off sensors in the phone that activate the device's multimedia station launcher. The homepage of this special menu differs from the normal Droid home screen because, rather than displaying various applications, it shows the current time, date, and weather, along with four other device menus.

The multimedia station can be plugged in to the power grid, allowing users unfettered access to their music, movies and photos. When the phone is plugged in, users can turn on a picture slide show and use the phone the same as they would a digital picture frame. They can turn on their music and use the phone as a music dock, the same as they would an iPod home stereo dock.

If the Droid Multimedia Station is plugged into a computer, users can also stream pictures, music, and video directly to their Droid, from their computer. On the Droid's relatively high resolution screen, photos and movies are very clear and vibrant, and play very smoothly. Audio quality on this device is also surprisingly high quality.

Any users of Verizon Wireless' Motorola Droid should definitely check out these must-have accessories if they want to enhance their user experience. With the Droid Car Mount Phone Holder users can make their Droids easier to use in the car, not to mention much safer.

After the the Droid is plugged in to Multimedia Station, the device becomes a top-shelf portable multimedia streaming device, a necessary add-on for the techie of today. All in all, these accessories for the Droid are very high-quality, easy to use, and a recommended buy for any Droid user.

Windshield Mount - Pretty awesome if all you do is use it in your car since every time it's placed in the holster it automatically starts up Goggle Nav (awesome app btw). As long as you precede your destination with "Navigate to . . . " when you speak your destination everything is pretty much done for you. Google Nav is basically an automated Google Earth. It's hot. Get one.
